A Western slope physician is set to travel to Ukraine for a fourth time to treat citizens in the war-torn country.
Bob Downs, a long-time physician, said he was looking for “mission work” and came across Global Care Force, which describes itself as “transforming lives through volunteerism.” The organization offers worldwide help in places like Ukraine, Mexico and the Middle East.
Downs, who helps run a local rural health clinic, recently returned from his third trip to Ukraine, which lasted 12 days.
